LVP 2.93 - Let the gang mayhem begin!

posted by thiaZ on Saturday, October the 30th at 4:02 PM

Hello,

Today, the biggest update since 2.90 has been released, LVP 2.93! There are tons of new features, the biggest one being the new gang handler. Gangs will be saved on our database after they have been created. There are 100 turfs in and around Las Venturas, ready to be taken by your gang!

If your gang manages to take both of the gang base turfs, you get a lot of special advantages and special stuff! You can capture turfs by standing in one for 3 minutes with at least 2 other members of your gang, the defending gang will have to kill the attackers to protect their turf.

Another nice feature is the new Run Weapon Team War minigame. It's similar to the WWTW minigame, 2 teams, red and blue, will spawn in the baseball stadium and have to kill each other. The first team that reaches the maximum score wins the RWTW.

From now on it's possible to play mapped derbies! Just test the 4 new pushout derbies. The old jail cells have been re-introduced as well!

LVP's economy has changed yet again! Our beta team has created an entirely new property layout all over San Andreas, to bring more excitement in the property hunting.

Just like in every other update we released, we fixed some bugs, for example drifting has been disabled due to the inaccurary score calculation. We've also fixed some bugs that can be abused, and improved the accuracy of the gamemode by updating the plugins and improving the code.

The full changelog of LVP 2.93 can be found here.

Update: We've run into a couple of major problems, thus we have reverted to 2.92.9 until we've addressed the problems.

Short Statement from San Andreas News

posted by Jay on Friday, October the 15th at 8:12 PM

Please find below a short statement from San Andreas News:

Two weeks have passed since we issued a press release regarding problems with the LVP economy. Unfortunately after a recent review of budgets, money flow and impact upon local businesses we've been forced to issue a second statement.

Las Venturas Playground is running into further money problems. Local Businesses have been hit hard. Property owners will feel an impact with much lesser earnings every 3 minutes.

Banks are running into more trouble. The Bank of Venturas has announced a cut back on bank limits: Players are now limited to $750,000,000. They've also reported that they have fixed an issue which occurred on their part relating to players being able to bank more than specified limits.

Bounty agencies have been hit as well. Research shows that the criminal underworld have suffered a recent reduction in business and as a result have introduced a new limit to bounties: $2,000,000,000.

In oppose to this recent bad news however, we would like to report some recent bug fixes applied to the LVP source by our hard working developers. Problems with Lyse, Ship fighting, temporary moderators and the race builder have all been fixed. The full changelog can be read here.

We hope to bring you all some better news in the future with perhaps some nice new features, like a new property layout, new map areas, a new Run weapon team minigame, and more!

Kind Regards,

Las Venturas Playground Press Office

The Recession Hits Las Venturas Playground

posted by Jay on Friday, October the 1st at 7:36 PM

It hit the USA, Europe, Germany, Italy, Japan... well, most of the world.

Now it's LVP's turn.

We've always been able to brag about our riches: who has the most billions, who owns the most properties and who makes the most money every minute. Unfortunately those days are coming to an end, and it's only going to get worse.

LVP Businesses are suffering. Property earnings will no longer come in by the minute.
Banks are suffering. Despite the UK government helping them out again, they've had to introduce new rules and reduce limits.

Some have debated that this is only the beginning. As the weeks pass, experts have predicted more problems such as new taxes introduced, even lower property earnings and prices. Who knows that the future will hold?

But enough of the bad news, here's some other things that have changed:

- We've fixed some minor bugs with SaveInfo and Achievements
- Players can now toggle and control their own personal death messages!
- Area 69 SAMs are back up and running
- Players can now start Hide n Seek
- We've added an FPS counter

In addition, the fightclub handler has been excessively improved! Good news! You can now run up to 10 multimatch fights at once! There are over 8 new arenas, nicely working run weapon / walkweapon options, COD style fighting areas and more! A dialog has been added to control different options, the watch system has been improved, and admins can now properly control fights!

And finally, the best new feature of them all: The race builder. Good news, VIPs. You can now build races! Go ingame and type /race build. We've extensively improved internal ID assigning and deletion of races. If you encounter any problems please report them at this forum topic.

Oh, and a few boring changes for us admins too that you don't need to worry about. /property goto now supports names and admins are now recognised as regular players.

For more details and a full list of changes, please check out the changelog.

See you soon!

Regards,
The Las Venturas Playground Development Team

Update 2nd October 2010: We had to revert back to the previous version because of some last minute problems with the weapon anti cheat. We've corrected those issues and made the weapon anticheat approximately 90% more accurate!
