Forum layout

posted by Richard on Monday, June the 29th at 5:12 PM

Hi,

As you may have noticed, we have been busy changing the layout of the forum. Not only did the layout change, new boards were added as well.

To be more exact, this is what has been removed:

Banner contest has been moved to the new category “Graveyard”
LVP Senate been moved to the new category “Graveyard”

And this is what has been added/moved:

Player Introductions and Help Requests > These were a part from the old “Account Related” board. We separated them now, Help Requests is for questions relating your actual account and Player Introductions is where your introductions are.
Offtopic Bullshizzle > This only became it’s own board because it was used a lot. Before, it was a subboard of General Talk.
Tech Talk > A new board for any questions you have about your PC, consoles or anything else tech-related.
Games > A new category was added for games, in here, you can discuss any game that has a board. If you want a new board to be added, post this in the "Request a game" board.
GTA IV > Anything about GTA’s latest version.
GTA San Andreas > With the subboards Media Dump and SA-MP(which has it’s own subboards again) this is new board with subboards which already existed.
CoD4: Modern Warfare > Not the latest version of the Call of Duty series, but still played a lot.
CoD5: World at War > The latest Call of Duty release.
Dutch Section > This has been changed to Read-only. This has been done because we felt it wasn’t fair towards the other nationalities. The only reason we had this is because of LVP’s origin, a group of Dutch people. This will be in the "Graveyard" as well.
Graveyard > Already spoken about in the removed parts. The boards in here are boards that are no longer used but still are things people might want to see.

Also note that there will be some changing in permissions and groups in the near future. There may be things right now which are not correct, please have some patience, we're working on getting everything working as it should.

If you have any questions related to this subject, you can PM Fireburn, Sander or Richard for questions.

On behalf of the LVP Management,

Richard

Holidays coming up!

posted by Fireburn on Monday, June the 29th at 12:49 AM

Hi there,

It's time for the two-weekly write-up again. Over the last few weeks not much has changed in the gamemode. We had some small additions and bugfixes, but we didn't add cool large new handlers. This was mainly due to the exams everyone has to do at the moment. Almost everyone in the development team has summer holidays now, except for me, I still have to do exams this week. This means some cool things can be done. In holidays, everyone has too much free time, which means they can do stuff for LVP. So what can you expect from us in the next weeks?

  • First of all, we will finally fix the bug where you wouldn't get stuff back after crashing. We're going to rewrite the savehandler to make it work again.
  • We will create a ganghandler, which basicly means you can save your gang. More details of this cool handler will come later.
  • We will add some new minigames, which will feature things not yet seen in LVP.
  • We will fix lots of small annoying bugs.
  • And we will add more features I'm not going to describe now.

So this period is going to bring quite some cool stuff to everyone, and we're excited and will try everything we can to bring as much as possible.

Anyways, I'm put the new version online a few moments ago, since the wiki is down I will put all changes from the last two weeks here.

2.90.27

  • Fixed /back and made sure crew can now use /tune for free
  • Everyone can now use /brief and /rivershell to start those minigames

2.90.28

  • You can now see quit messages in the minigames
  • Lots of new achievements with exports, speedbonusses and taxpayments
  • Small bugfix where you would spawn in wrong world in some cases after minigame
  • Crew can use commands when wasted now

About the achievements, there are quite a lot now, you can find all of them in the LVP Achievements Topic! In this topic you can also give suggestions for achievements you would like to see ingame.

Well, I guess that is it for today, we hope to see you around soon and we hope you are excited about some new plans. Also, if you found a bug, don't forget to report it on our bugtracker!

Yet another update.

posted by Wesley on Sunday, June the 14th at 7:16 PM

It's Sunday again. Update-day.

After a few weeks with quite extensive updates this update does not contain a lot of new features or bug fixes. It's the end of the school year and because many of us are still in school, we are busy with exams. Therefor we haven't had much time to work on the gamemode.

The new update contains one new feature for you, the players. Felle has improved the delivery minigame, new locations and a timelimit have been added. The earnings have also changed, they are now based on the time and distance of the delivery.

There were two other changes but only the crew will benefit from these, one of these involves the warning message for speaking English in the mainchat in many different languages, thank you all for helping out with the translations.

We are also happy to see that the first few bugs have been reported to the new system which has been made public recently. Keep reporting there if you find any bugs, and don't hesitate to register.

See you next week.

Wesley Lancel
