Hey there all!
The LVP developement team is very proud to release version 10 to the main server! A big number for a big release: there has been put a tremendous amount of work in rewriting the few biggest core functions; being vehicles, properties and ban handling. I can't emphasize the amount of work there's been put in these projects, and with these out of the way we can surely say LVP has overcome it's biggest difficulties since the gamemode has started to be reworked. Thanks: Russell, Kase and Jay :)
You're gonna notice the working RC vehicles, renewed property textlabels and, if you're lucky, the brand new ban manager ;) Yet, the biggest improvements are the server's stability and durability. For the following releases, I think it's safe to say we can finally move on to minigames, gangs and kill-handling: the all around deathmatch aspect of LVP. We're coming back baby!
Other noteworthy improvements:
- Whatpulse statistics fixed.
- Karma calculation fixed.
- Rewritten spectate handler for LVP crew.
- A total amount of 100 tickets handled since version 9.8.
- Updates to Nuwani, the IRC side of LVP.
- Various cleanups.
You understand that bringing in these new features might introduce some bugs as well, let me remind you of our bug tracker: http://trac.sa-mp.nl/lvp/. If you guys like, you can log in with your LVP account and create tickets regarding bugs or awesome ideas you have. Track our developement pace at http://development.sa-mp.nl/console/!

There have been a lot of improvements with the gamemode in the last couple of years. All of which wouldn't be possible without our awesome development team. We'd like to take the time and show our appreciation to three of the most important people that have made all this possible; Jay, Kase and Cake.
Jay registered his account 2207 days ago, back when he was known as 'Grove'. After playing solo for a while he founded the Coldthugz gang with Makaveli and Caveman and spend every minute fighting with the [BA] gang over the gangbase. Jay started developing gamemodes for sa-mp somewhere in 2009 and joined the LVP development team. His first ever change to the code fixed a bug with player colors in june 2009, since then he has made over 700 commits adding various features and fixing numerous bugs. In total his contribution is in the ten thousands lines of code. Jay has been the lead developer for several years and is currently involved with rewriting features.
Our Italian friend Kase joined LVP in 2009 and is the founder of the Excessive Fighting gang (eF) which is also knows as the Excessive Farmers gang on Mineground. Kase joined the development team in 2011 where he, like most new developers, started with fixing bugs. To list some of the features he added recently; /tow, minigame menus, the new ammunation, Island DM and several administration features. He has fixed tons and tons of bugs.
The most recent addition to the development team is Cake but since he joined in April of this year he already made close to 250 commits! Cake joined LVP in 2008 and was active for several years. When he became active again in the beginning of this year we were making progress with rewriting the gamemode and his help has been invaluable. To highlight a few features he worked on; /hitman, pause system, IRC messages, save-info, VIP features, /pm and /call, /my look, power statues and the awesome color picker. We feel that Cake's involvement with our community shouldn't go unnoticed, therefore he is also promoted to LVP Administrator.
The LVP Management honors each of these people the with the Appreciation Award for their efforts.
Progress with development
In case you missed, one of our recent steps to make development more open and transparent we've opened up our issue tracker so that anyone with an LVP account can report bugs here. If you have found any bugs or want to suggest features, please create a ticket. You can see our progress here.
Our Pawn editor has been released for anyone to download and use with their own projects. For a sneak peek under the hood of the current gamemode, see our automagically documented list of classes and methods... There is more to come.

Well hello there :)
As promised I am here to bring you some news regarding the Las Venturas Playground VIP features! This project took about 6 weeks and roughly 50 code commits, for once because a few other LVP features are integrated with the VIP system. Let me sum things up for you:
1) We've dropped the VIP Mod system, meaning the /(un)lang commands has been removed from the gamemode. VIPs still have access to admin vehicles (hydra and hunter), and the rules regarding this access remain untouched. Meaning: abusing these vehicles will have your admin vehicle access removed, permanently.
2) The private message and call features are completely rewritten. For VIPs this means you are now able to PM with IRC users even smoother than already possible. The /r(eply) command will now work for both received IRC and ingame private messages. Overall you'll notice the visual changes only.
3) We are introducing the following new features for VIPs:
- free armour upon spawning
- a /my weather command to change your own weather at all times
- a /my look command to temporarily change your skin
- the ability to spawn vehicles while participating in a cruise, with the /cruise command
4) Then there is one big update I haven't talked about yet: the dev beasts are bringing back persistent player color changes for VIPs! We are introducing something really awesome and unique here: a color picker to pick the exact color you'd like to have :)

As you see one page holds 49 colors, meaning 3 pages carry 147 different colors to pick from! A color change costs 10 mil., and you are able to change your color as often as you like. The color is saved upon disconnecting and set on the next login.
Apart from these innovations there have been a few cleanups in the code, and many bugfixes have been done. Enjoy your stay!
